A Long Walk to Water

Updated: Jan 22

Have you ever wondered what it really means to fetch water? For some of us, we have no grid for this way of securing the most basic human need - water. Our Executive Director, Josh Young, recently took a walk with some students to fetch water at the nearest source, a river. What you'll see is that this is no easy plight, and so many children and women do this daily, if not twice daily. Seeing the reality of how things are for our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world helps us to know how to get involved!

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

If you're inspired to get involved and learn more here, read on. It's not hard to make a difference!

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

  • Join One Tribe - One Tribe is our community of monthly givers. 100% of your monthly gift goes directly towards sponsoring clean water projects in Kenya and Tanzania. You simply set the amount that works for you, and the cumulative effect of many like-minded individuals translates into incredible impact. One Tribe givers have now sponsored over 210 projects to date!

  • Sponsor a Project - we have several types of wells and projects that you could choose to sponsor (either fully or in part). When you sponsor a well, you receive a commemorative book with location details, photos of the completed project and the people you've impacted.

  • Start a Fundraiser - we make it easy with our MyHPProject page. You simply set up a project with a goal, and share the link with your friends and family. It's a great thing to do for a birthday or just to rally your friends together to create a lasting legacy.

  • Church & Business Partnerships - We partner with business and churches to accumulate donations and sponsor projects over time. There are many ways to approach this, so learn more about what partnership can look like on the page linked above.
